This study aims to propose the direction which future public service advertising should take to be effective by analyzing themes chosen and the manner they were addressed in ads. First, social issues of a specific period and how they were addressed as a theme in ads were examined by looking into public service ads historically. The public service advertising is a type of advertisement that incorporates the majority of public opinion. It is a communication that either supports or encourages an activity or an issue that is of benefit to public socio-economically Thus, it is a form of communication that uses informative and persuasive manner of delivering a message to enhance awareness of the social or general welfare issues in order to induce public to act.
